A brand new international Japanese trailer for Sam Worthington's "Avatar" has been released by 20th Century Fox. Making its way out via Yahoo! Japan on Wednesday, November 4, the more-than two-minute clip gives sneak peek at some never-before-seen scenes from the film.
At the beginning of the footage, a group of human is seen arriving on the distant moon Pandora. Sam's Jake Sully, an ex-Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth, is among them. Joining Avatar program, he controls an Avatar body, a genetically-bred human-Na'vi hybrid who can breathe the air on Pandora.
Jake then falls in love with a young Na'vi woman, Zoe Saldana's Neytiri, and becomes closer to her clan. Later, he finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na'vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.
First conceived by James Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist, "Avatar" will take the audiences to a spectacular new world beyond imagination. The film centers on a reluctant hero, who embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The action flick will hit U.S. theaters on December 18.
