Threesome sex scene that will be included in the November 9 episode of Chace Crawford's "Gossip Girl" has got a bad response from the public. On Wednesday, November 4, Tim Winter, the president of Parents Television Council (PTC), slammed the promos for the related episode, calling them "reckless and irresponsible."
PTC, additionally, has urged CW not to air the episode. In a letter to the affiliates of the network, Tim wrote, "To include a story line like this on a program that is expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers is reckless and irresponsible. I appeal to your highest sense of decency, respect and common sense in urging you to preempt this episode."
Later, he explained further, " 'Gossip Girl' routinely depicts teenage characters engaging in promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior, and that's bad enough. But will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?" Unfortunately, as of the press time, CW has yet to comment on the matter.
This is not the first time PTC criticized "Gossip Girl". Back in July 2008, the organization spoke out against a racy marketing for the show's new season. In some ads, two characters of the series are snapped showing off intimate moments, being accompanied with headlines like "A Nasty Piece of Work" and "Mind-Blowingly Inappropriate."
