"Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf and "The Notebook" actor Ryan Gosling are a step closer to land roles in "The Wettest County in the World". The news was spilled by director John Hillcoat, who has been circling the upcoming movie project. Being interviewed by Atomic Popcorn about his latest film "The Road", he has given few updates about the thriller film.
"Yeah it's west Virginia, moonshine, backwoods, and Prohibition," said John when describing what the movie is about. "Nick Cave has written the script and we've got a phenomenal cast. Hopefully, but - it's really tough out there." Asked who has been attached to the film, the helmer answered, "Um... Ryan Gosling and Shia LaBeouf." Realizing that he has talked too much about the progress of the movie, he then told Atomic Popcorn, "But yeah, I shouldn't really talk about it cause it's in the middle of all sorts of stuff."
"The Wettest County in the World", which is based on a true story, will revolve around a moonshine gang operating in the bootlegging capital of America - Franklin County, Va. - during Prohibition. The movie is produced by Douglas Wick alongside Lucy Fisher in association with Columbia Pictures. The flick eyes for a 2010 release schedule.
