Things are getting serious between Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Though she has yet to confirm that she has a special relationship with the British comedian, the 24-year-old songstress is reported planning to introduce him to her parents, who are said to be evangelical Christian pastors.

"Katy is as besotted with Russell as he is with her," some sources tell The Sun. "However, her parents are extraordinarily strict Christians. Katy is sure that, after a bit of getting used to him, they would approve of Russell, but she wants to get that initial meeting out of the way as early as she can."

Dishing on Perry's parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, the sources state, "Keith and Mary are devoted to the church and hold the institution of marriage as a central core of their beliefs." The sources go on detailing "They are genuinely happy for their daughter, but want to give Russell the once-over to check that he is, in fact, as suitable as Katy claims."

Rumor of Katy Perry dating Russell Brand first emerged last month, during when both of them were reportedly spotted canoodling during a party after 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13. Then, on October 6, they made their first public appearance as a couple at the Fendi Party during Paris Fashion Week.
