Drew Barrymore Glad Not to Be Director of 'Eclipse'

Drew Barrymore says she feels glad for not directing highly anticipated vampire drama movie "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". Speaking in a recent interview with The Irish Times, the 34-year-old beauty claimed she wasn't upset though she wasn't appointed to be the helmer of the project because she had not fallen "in love with" the script.

"Timing-wise, I'm glad that it didn't work out and everything I think happens for whatever reason it's supposed to," Barrymore said. "I'm very much looking forward to seeing that film. And there's been two or three others that I've flirted with."

Barrymore, who last directed "Whip It!", later added, "The thing that's really the most important for me is to be so in love with what I do that it's what gets you out of bed and makes you work six to seven days a week, 18 hours a day." She went on detailing, "Unless you're that invested, you won't care about every single detail."

Drew Barrymore was actually among contenders to direct the third "Twilight" film, which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on June 30, 2010. However, the flick was finally entrusted to David Slade, who previously worked on "30 Days of Night".
