Playing Kyle Kingson in "Beastly", Alex Pettyfer has to apply scary make-up when his character transforms into a grotesque monster after being cursed by a witch in disguise. Being interviewed during Neutrogena Fresh Face Event on Saturday afternoon, September 26, his co-star Vanessa Hudgens shared about her feeling when she first saw the actor's beastly look.
"So freaked out," Vanessa told Just Jared Jr. She then explained, "It was just weird because as soon as he got into it, he became very self-conscious and took on this whole new persona. It was like I was meeting a whole new person. It was crazy - it's very intense."
In "Beastly", Vanessa Hudgens portrays a fair maiden named Linda Taylor, who will later become the love interest of Alex Pettyfer's Kyle Kingson. Mary-Kate Olsen also joins the film to play Kendra Hilferty, who casts a spell on Kyle after he ditches her during an environmental bash. Adapted from Alex Flinn's 2007 novel with the same title, which is also a homage to the original story of "Beauty and the Beast", the movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 30, 2010.
