At 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 20, Alec Baldwin has grabbed prize for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, being awarded for his starring role as Jack Donaghy on famous TV series "30 Rock". Delivering his award acceptance speech, the senior actor took his statuette from presenter Rob Lowe and told the crowd, "I'd trade this to look like him."
Additionally, Kristin Chenoweth, who starred on ABC's canceled show "Pushing Daisies", also took home a gong from the annual awards show, which was kicked off at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Attending the event by wearing a sparkling dress, the 41-year-old beauty got kudo for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category.
When giving an acceptance speech, Kristin said, "I don't know why I'm crying. I'm unemployed now, and I'd like to be on 'Mad Men'. I also like 'The Office' and '24.' " After thanking her parents, she later thanked the TV Academy for "recognizing a show no longer on the air".
Also listed among the winners of 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was Jon Cryer, who took Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award for hit CBS show "Two and a Half Men". Then, Toni Collette was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for "United States of Tara". She has beaten top-notch actresses, such as Tina Fey, Christina Applegate, and Sarah Silverman, who were all also nominated for the same category.
