MTV has announced that Alicia Keys and Jay-Z will collaborate at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 13. Both of them will take the stage to perform "Empire State of Mind" that comes from his latest studio album entitled "The Blueprint 3".
Beside Alicia and Jay-Z, famous rapper Eminem has also been set to make a special appearance at the annual awards show, which will be broadcast live on MTV at 9:00 P.M. ET. However, there has been no word about the details of his appearance at the event.
At upcoming 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards, Russell Brand will once again serve as the host. During the show, a new trailer for "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" will be debuted by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Additionally, the first single off the soundtrack album to the "Twilight" sequel, titled "Meet Me on the Equinox", will be premiered at the same event.
Recently, Janet Jackson has been confirmed to perform a musical tribute to his late brother Michael Jackson at the show. The event will also feature the debut of the trailer for the King of Pop's documentary film "This Is It", which is going to hit U.S. theaters on October 28.
