In honor of DJ AM, Blink-182 pulled out from their scheduled performance in Saratoga, New York City. The band, who were expected to perform in Saratoga Performing Art Center on Monday, August 31 at 6:30 P.M., canceled the show due to the 'unfortunate situation' following the shocking death of their late close friend and collaborator.
"Due to circumstances surrounding the unfortunate and untimely passing of our dear friend Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein, Blink-182 will not be playing tonight in Saratoga, NY at SPAC," the post entitled 'Regarding tonight in Saratoga, NY' in the band's official site read. "Performances by Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French will take place as planned along with some special surprises. We thank all of our fans for their support in this tough time."
The U.S. punk band are scheduled to return to the stage this Wednesday, September 1, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Last Saturday, August 29, the band played "Down" as a tribute to DJ AM in . These performances are part of their 2009 Summer tour.
Celebrity disc jockey DJ AM was found dead at his New York City apartment on Friday afternoon, August 28. It is still unclear what prompted his sudden death. He had been working with the band's drummer, Travis Barker since 2005, when they first work together in KROQ Inland Invasion concert. Both he and Baker were the lucky survivors of a plane crash last year.
