Zac Efron may be worshiped by lot of girl fans, but he is not confident when he had to work with his "Me and Orson Welles" co-star Claire Danes. In a recent interview with BlackBook magazine, the actor revealed that he was intimidated after knowing that he would portray Claire's love interest in the drama film.
"I was intimidated. Even just the name Claire Danes carries such weight with it," Zac admitted. The Vanessa Hudgens' boyfriend then explained, "I needed to be a worthy love interest in the film and I didn't know that I had any of the qualities necessary to woo a girl like her."
Zac then compared himself to Richard Samuels, the character he plays in the film, who adores Claire's Sonja Jones but is poorly rejected by her. "Claire and I were trapped on an island together with nowhere to go for four weeks, like a reality show. My character was supposed to fall in love, but she was also supposed to be out of his league. After meeting Claire, that was definitely the way it was supposed to be," he told .
"Me and Orson Welles" centers on Zac Efron's Richard Samuels who dreams to perform on a Broadway stage. He then meets director Orson Welles who gives him a role in forthcoming run of Julius Caesar. There, Richard meets production assistant Sonja Jones, whom he later falls in love with. Directed by Richard Linklater, the flick is going to hit U.S. theaters in 2009.
