Not only the release of Michael Jackson's autopsy results which have been delayed several times, but also his burial ceremony. A day after Joe Jackson stated that his son's burial would be postponed until 31 August, the family's publicist has announced that the superstar's burial has been pushed back to September 3.
The official statement made by the Jackson family's publicist also mentioned that the ceremony will be started at 7:00 P.M. PT. Still sticking to earlier plan, Michael will be laid to rest at Holly Terrace in The Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California in a private ceremony which will only be attended by family and close friends.
Michael's father has no idea why the burial has to be postponed for quite long time, as he told press "I don't know now. We have to figure it out." However, lawyer for the singer's mother explained on August 21 that there was a miscommunication within the Jackson family about the burial date and some family members objected the plan to bury Michael on August 29, thus it has to be delayed by five days.
Michael Jackson's family initially announced that the late King of Pop would be laid to rest on August 29, to coincide with his 51st birthday. Later, Joe Jackson stated his son's burial had to be postponed until August 31, explaining that "there are things the family needs to get in order before Michael is laid to rest".
