Paula Abdul Allegedly to Play New Temp at Mode on 'Ugly Betty'

Post leaving "American Idol", Paula Abdul reportedly is in talks to guest star on the next season of "Ugly Betty". Though there has been no word about her role, an insider tells EW that the 47-year-old beauty will portray a new temp at Mode who bonds with Becki Newton's Amanda Tanen. If she agrees to make a cameo on the ABC's hit show, the deal will mark her first appearance on small screen after deciding to leave "Idol", in which she has served as a judge for eight years.

"Ugly Betty" is currently in the production of its fourth season. On July 30, it was reported that the series' leading character America Ferrera's Betty Suarez would get a makeover on the upcoming season, which will be aired on October 9. ABC allegedly has asked "a round of focus groups" to change her appearance.

Few days later, Ferrera showed off her new appearance during the filming of the show in New York City. Wearing a red dress matched with a necklace, yellow socks, and flip-flops, she was believed to display Suarez's new look. "She's getting glammed up. She's still Betty, just Betty 2.0," an insider said of the new appearance of the Mode's new associate features.
