Paula Abdul finally confirms that she will not return to the upcoming season of "American Idol". Announcing her departure from the show, she wrote in her Twitter page on Tuesday, August 4, "With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to #IDOL. I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all ... being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon."
Beside announcing that she is no longer working on the TV show, the 47-year-old beauty also thanked fans for supporting her, tweeting "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me." Then, she continued, "It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all."
Speculation on whether or not Paula Abdul will serve again as a judge on the next series of "American Idol" emerged last month. Her manager David Sonenberg said Abdul actually would "love to be on the show", but she hasn't received a proposal for her return. "She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," the manager said. "I think at this point we're going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows."
