Betty Suarez, the character which is portrayed by America Ferrera on "Ugly Betty", probably gets a makeover on the series' 4th season. ABC, according to Entertainment Weekly, has asked "a round of focus groups" to change the appearance of the show's leading character.
The execs of the TV station will show Suarez's new look in the early of the upcoming season, which will be premiered later this year. In a scene, she will sport a Chanel-esque pastel pink suit. Then, in another scene, the Mode's new associate features editor will don a black short-sleeved dress matched with a ruffled V-neck.
"She looks a lot classier, but she's still far from perfect," an executive says. After showing off the new look, the station plans to ask fans whether Suarez's transformation is appropriate or not, Entertainment Weekly reports.
In April, the executive producer of "Ugly Betty", Silvio Horta, said ABC would like to revamp Betty Suarez's appearance, which "would eventually include her braces coming off". "There's going to be a progression in her look overall. It'll still be Betty, but you'll see some growth in that direction," Horta claimed.
