, one of the longtime judges of "American Idol", allegedly asks for a $20 million deal to come back to the next season of the reality singing contest. The demand, according to Radar Online, "has been turned down so far".

Over the weekend, Paula Abdul's manager, David Sonenberg, said in an interview with The Los Angeles Times that the 47-year-old beauty probably won't return to the new series of "American Idol", which will be premiered in January 2010. "Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on 'Idol,'" he testified.

Sonenberg claimed Abdul actually would "love to be on the show", but she has yet to receive a proposal for her return. "She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," the manager said. "I think at this point we're going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows."

Contrary to Sonenberg's statements, fellow "Idol" judge Simon Cowell is certain that she will return to the show. "She'll be fine. She'll be on the show. I don't get a lot of say. I've just made it clear that I want Paula on the show," Cowell told Extra.
