The first official photo from "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" comes out. In the shot, which is released by Entertainment Weekly, the film's leading actor Jake Gyllenhaal is seen striking a pose when portraying Dastan, a sixth-century Persian prince.
In addition to the publication of the image, also includes part of an interview with the 28-year-old Academy Awards nominee. "I'm tired of taking myself so seriously," Gyllenhaal talks about himself who has been doing his own stunts, such as sword-fighting, climbing walls, and jumping off of buildings. "It's nice when a stuntman turns to you and is like, 'Actors don't normally do this.'"
Coming from Mike Newell, who previously directed "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" in 2005, "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer in association with Walt Disney Pictures. Besides Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, and Toby Kebbell are going to star on the film, which will hit U.S. theaters on May 28, 2010.
The flick's story centers on Dastan who joins forces with feisty and exotic princess named Tamina. Both of them struggle to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods which can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
