The Hollywood Reporter claims Michael Jackson's funeral will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 7 at 10:00 A.M. Though there has been no official confirmation, AEG Live, which owns Staples Center and the next-door building Nokia Theatre, reportedly will use both facilities and the surrounding plaza. Additionally, insiders say AEG will put gigantic screens outside the venues for those who can't get inside.
Staples Center is where the 50-year-old did a last rehearsal right up until midnight on Wednesday June 24 for his upcoming comeback tour, which was actually scheduled to be kicked off in London next month. At that time, he was said looking happy and energetic as he practiced his dance moves.
Previously, it was reported that a public memorial for Michael Jackson, who passed away on Thursday, June 25, was set at Neverland ranch on Friday, July 3. However, the rumors were soon denied by the new publicist of Jackson's family, Ken Sunshine, saying "Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland."
Additionally, a source stated "nothing is planned for Neverland, at least through Friday." Jackson's family reportedly faced problems dealing with permission from Los Olivios, California officials.
