Jamie Foxx Pays Tribute to Michael Jackson at 2009 BET Awards
paid tribute to late at 2009 BET Awards. Serving as host of the event which was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28, he imitated the choreography from Michael's "Beat It" and performed moonwalk at the beginning of the show.

Jamie appeared on the stage wearing outfits which looked like the late singer's style with a red leather jacket, single sparkling glove and a shiny belt. After dancing with several girls on "Beat It" tune, he spoke, "There was one thing that this man did that I always wanted to do, and I'm gonna do it tonight. I'm gonna moonwalk. I hope I can make it." He then asked some music to accompany him performing the moonwalk.

The 2009 BET Awards focused on honoring the late Michael Jackson. It opened with a clip of Michael's performance with at 2003 BET Awards followed by New Edition's performance of 5 hits from the King of Pop. Other singers who also paid tribute to the late star by performing his songs included who sang "Lady in My Life" and with "Turn My Swag On."
