Jordin Sparks is videotaped as a woman who feels devastated for what she has done before in a music video for 'Battlefield'.
Winner of "American Idol" 6th season
Jordin Sparks is debuting a new music video for her single "Battlefield". The song is the first track of her upcoming second studio album with the same name "Battlefield", which will be released on July 21.
In the footage of the clip, the 19-year-old songstress is videotaped wandering alone in an open place. She is also pictured as a woman who feels very devastated for what she has done before.
"Something happened at the party [I attend] ... I don't understand what's going on," she says about the plot of the video. "I'm frustrated and I'm sad for having done something wrong. I'm driving away from that place and I stop at the nearest open place that I find."
Taken in Los Angeles last month, the music video for "Battlefield" is directed by Philip Andelman. Commenting on the song's title, Jordin states, "To me, the title Battlefield is about strength and perseverance." Then, she explains further, "Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship or work; and my favorite line in the song is, 'you better go and get your armor,' because it's telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it."
