'American Idol' winner, Kris Allen, will sing 'Star Spangled Banner' at the NBA finals in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 7.
, winner of "American Idol" season 8, will participate in the National Basketball Association finals in Los Angeles, but not to join the game. He is going to sing the National Anthem on Sunday, June 7, before Game 2 which will be a battle between Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. His version of the anthem will be aired on ABC at 8 P.M. EDT.
Kris is not the first "Idol" winner who has the honor to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the U.S. professional basketball's biggest series. Previously, there were
Kelly Clarkson,
Ruben Studdard,
Carrie Underwood,
Taylor Hicks,
Jordin Sparks and
David Cook who have performed at the NBA court, singing the same song.
Up next for Kris, there will be series of "American Idol" tour in 50 cities. The tour will start on July 5 and Portland, Ore, will be the first city visited by the Arkansas guy with the other Top 10 Idols.
