There's obviously one person who didn't vote for Adam Lambert in "American Idol" season 8 finale. Clay Aiken, former runner-up of season 2, wrote on his website, showing how he is satisfied with the result of the singing competition this season and how he thinks of Adam. "Now that it's all over, and for the record.... I couldn't be happier about the way AI ended this year," Clay said.
Clay mentioned on his blog that Adam's voice does not fit his ears. "This year, I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing 'Ring of Fire' and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him," he further added, "Just not my cup of tea at all."
Clay admitted that he never saw Kris Allen, the new "Idol" champ singing, but he believed that Kris was "likable" and that it all depends to personal taste of the voters, saying "But Idol is not always a matter of musical taste only. It's about the person you like. From what little I saw, Kris seemed likable."
Clay later wrote on his blog that he asked an apology to Adam for his words choice that sounds offending Adam and his fans. "I wouldn't dream of slamming him as an entertainer," Clay said. He claimed that people misinterpreted him on his quotes and that he didn't expect people to pay so much attention on his opinion.
