23-year-old heartthrob Robert Pattinson says he felt amazed when he got the role of vampire Edward Cullen on "Twilight" and its sequel "The Twilight Saga's New Moon". However, the British actor still doesn't feel confident to play the role as he isn't "attractive" enough.
"The Edward in the book is like an enigma of everything that's perfect about a man. It's like, 'He walked into a room and it hurts to see how beautiful he is.' It's just kind of embarrassing," he tells U.K.'s Look magazine. "I just couldn't figure out a way to act perfect."
Recalling his audition for the role, he says, "I felt like an idiot going into the audition - even having the gall to go in means you're a bit of an arrogant p***k. Who could possibly play it apart from Zac Efron?" Then, he continues, "Twilight fans are very loyal to the book and to the author Stephanie Meyer. And I got a 100 per cent negative reception when I got cast."
Robert Pattinson currently is filming "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" in Vancouver, Canada. He is set to fly to Italy at the end of the month to continue filming the movie. Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, and Ashley Greene will also join him. The flick itself is set to hit U.S. theaters on November 20.
