Lindsay Lohan Goes to Big Screen in 'The Other Side'

Lindsay Lohan is set to play in an indie fantasy comedy "The Other Side". The "Mean Girls" star, who hasn't appeared in a theatrical release since 2007's "I Know Who Killed Me," will play the leading role in the movie.

In the film, Lindsay will play a grad student who spends the summer working at a scientific institute on a remote island. She soon discovers an eccentric group of quirky characters who are hiding a secret about tragic events that took place years before.

"The Other Side", which will begin filming on an island off the coast of Massachusetts this October is directed by newcomer David Michaels. In the movie, Lindsay will be joined by Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.
Producer Kent Harper said Lindsay will be insured when lensing starts. The director, David, also said that the actress is aware about Hollywood's perception of her as being unprofessional and that she is committed to do what she has to in order to change that.
