"American Idol" Result Show sent Danny Gokey home, making Kris Allen and Adam Lambert as the Final 2. Gokey's fan support apparently was not enough to take him to be the Idol top 2, which does not cope with judge Paula Abdul's prediction of Gokey and Lambert to perform in this season American Idol final.
Gokey with Terence Trent D'arby's "Dance Little Sister" - chosen for him by judge Paula Abdul - and his own choice, "You Are So Beautiful," popularized by Joe Cocker, failed to impress public on Tuesday night show. Meanwhile, Lambert, the Los Angeles musical-theater veteran got almost all thumbs up for both his sensuous take on U2's "One," and a cat-scratch run through Aerosmith's "Cryin'", adding another record of great performance on his nearly flawless path through the final.
As opposite to Gokey who was never put in the bottom 3 through the season, Allen's acoustic performance of Kanye West's "Heartless" has succeed to earn him praises from the judges, turning his status from the bottom three two weeks ago to a strong position over the course of the competition. Allen also performed OneRepublic's "Apologize" on Tuesday night.
Wednesday night's results show also featured an appearance by "American Idol" Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks performing her new single "Battlefield" and Katy Perry performing "Waking up in Vegas".
