Jessica Szohr, starring "Gossip Girl", will take a role in 3-D remake of the 1978 horror film "Piranha" as reported in E!Online. This news has been confirmed by Dimension Films. She will play as "Kelly, a hot young city girl caught up in the excitement of co-eds who have descended upon the area for spring break."
The "Piranha 3-D" movie will maintain the original story with the scene "on a lakeside town being terrorized by prehistoric man-eating razor-toothed fish." The movie will be directed by Alexandre Aja who is best-known for directing "The Hills Have Eyes".
The film is going to take a shot later this month in Lake Havasu, Arizona, and is planned to hit the theaters on March 19, 2010. Other cast previously announced to be featured in the movie are Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames and Richard Dreyfuss. Shue will play as the local sheriff with Rhames as one of her deputies, and Scott will play as a Navy diver sent in to help rescuing the town.
Previously, Szohr has starred in some horror movies like "House At The End Of The Drive" with Lance Henriksen and "Somebody Help Me" about murder in the woods starring Omarion and Marques Houston.
