Denise Richards stated that she would never sing in public again as a response to the critics of her performance on Friday, May 1, at the Chicago Cubs Game. Denise, who previously played in "Scary Movie 3", could not carry a tune when she sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".
Denise explained that the performance certainly was not intended to impress people with her singing abilities. "I'm clearly not a singer," she said as quoted in E!online, "I wasn't doing it to show off my pipes." She apparently has a very good reason she sang such song.
"People are trashing my singing. I don't care never said i could sing! I had fun and we had a great event," Denise reacted to the critics as she wrote on her Twitter. "It took everything in me to get up there and do that," Denise said in another source. "My dad and my sister kept saying, 'Just remember you're doing this for Mom,' so that's how I got through it. It's just unfortunate that doing something good was turned into such a negative."
Previously, it was reported that the star of reality show, "It's Complicated", was in the Windy City for a fundraiser for the Kidney Cancer Association. Her mom died of the disease about a year ago and while she was there, Denise asked Cubs management if the group could set up an informational booth at Wrigley Field during Friday's game. In return, Denise was asked to sing, which was replied with 'yes'. But the cancer message got lost along the way since many people criticized it as soon as the video of Denise's singing performance hit the Internet.
