Katy Perry debuts a music video for her single "Waking Up in Vegas", which is taken from her 2008 studio album entitled "One of the Boys". In the video, Katy and her beau, who is portrayed by Joel David Moore, win almost all the games in a club in Las Vegas. The twosome previously was credited as "hungover and broke" persons.
"Waking Up in Vegas" music video was directed by Joseph Kahn. The song itself was written by Katy Perry, Desmond Child, and Andreas Carlsson. Soon after releasing her new music video, Katy says she is hoping to bring more mature music for her next album. "I definitely want to make a follow-up pop, fun record. I'm not looking to alienate my fans, but I can't be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair all the time ... because I'd kill myself or someone else would for me," she tells MTV.
"So this [new] record will be a very present record for me," Katy continues. "It will be me now. It won't take five years - hopefully. It will be Katy Perry as a young, 25-year-old woman."
Last month, the 24-year-old singer was seen filming the clip for "Waking Up in Vegas". At that time, she was spotted locking lips with co-star Joel David Moore under the bright lights of Las Vegas. The twosome was in a glass case, being showered with money.
