Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly has ended her engagement to her daughter's daddy Casey Aldridge as she doesn't need marriage to make her happy.

Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly has called off her engagement to fiance Casey Aldridge, insisting that she doesn't need a ceremony or certificate of marriage in order to make her happy. "The wedding's off. They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married," a source told Us Magazine. "Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper."
The 17-year-old actress also said that she really enjoys her role to be a mother for her daughter, Maddie Briann, who was born on June 19, 2008, and she currently is thinking about the future of the daughter. "She's happy being a real hands-on Southern mother and hopes to continue that for years to come with Casey right by her side," the source continued. "Jamie Lynn knows she needs to make a living when she grows older, so she's already discussing her career options with advisers. She wants Maddie to grow up in comfort."
In the end of 2007, Jamie Lynn Spears confirmed to OK! Magazine that she was pregnant and Casey Aldridge is the father of the fetus. At that time, she said that she first met Casey at a church and had been dating him for some time. The couple was lately spotted leaving a New Orleans hotel on March 4 after attending her sister Britney Spears' "Circus" concert the night before.
