Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, reacts with "surprise and pleasure" to detailed reports about Chris Brown's alleged assault on his daughter.
Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies, assault and making criminal threats, in the alleged beating of
Rihanna. Just hours after , the Barbados-born singer's family has reacted to the charges, telling People, "It's about time."
"He should be in jail," Rihanna's relative says of Chris, who faces up to four years and eight months in state prison. "He deserves whatever he gets," adds the relative.
And Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, reacts with "surprise and displeasure". "I was annoyed. I never hit my daughter," he tells People when contacted in Barbados. "Why should he hit her? Why would any one do that? I was crazy, but I don't know the situation and I wasn't there."
Rihanna and Chris have reportedly gotten back together after the incident. Of their reconciliation, another relative told People, "No one wants them back together. I don't ever want her to go through this again."
