Simon Pegg Reveals Wife's Pregnancy, Wants a Baby Girl

British actor Simon Pegg is to become father for the first time as his wife, Maureen McCann, is pregnant. "My wife is five months pregnant. We haven't announced it yet as we want to keep it hush-hush," stated the "Hot Fuzz" star after the Brit Awards on February 18.

He admitted that he was really excited about his wife's pregnancy and he hoped to have a daughter. "I'm hoping for a baby girl, but I really don't mind what we have. We're thinking of having it in America as the baby will then have dual citizenship," the 39-year-old actor mentioned, adding, "I'm really looking forward to it. It's going to be amazing." McCann is scheduled to give birth to the baby in June.

"The Shaun of the Dead" star wed Maureen McCann in 2005. He has been close friends with Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of 'Coldplay' since they met at a gig in 2000, and becomes the godfather to Apple, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter.
