During press conference for his short movie, "Gimme Shelter", in N.Y.C. on Wednesday, December 17, Affleck said, "UNHCR has to find a goodwill ambassador who will get the attention of the president because the woman they've got is not high profile enough".

Referring to Jolie, the actress has been The United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees goodwill ambassador since early 2001. During 8-year-duty, she has worked with field staff and met with refugees in more than 20 countries.

During the event, Affleck also added being a star makes it easier for him to do humanitarian job, revealing "One of the things about being an actor is that I've had the opportunity to be exposed to really smart people." He claimed, "People have been really generous" because they have showed him how to do the duty. Of it, he uttered, "I expose myself to those people and say, 'Help me learn about this,' and I've given myself a great post-graduate experience in this arena."

Back on Sunday, December 14, Ben Affleck joined hundreds of volunteers to help the group to send care packages to troops overseas through Operation Gratitude. They sent out 100,000 boxes of goodies and letters to U.S. service members which are placed in conflicted regions each year.
