Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Plan to Wed in January 2009

The first birthday of their daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, plays important role in the life of lovey-dovey pair, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. The couple has been said to go down the aisle on January 11, 2009, the same day Harlow turns one year old.

An unnamed friend of the happy parents breaks the news to public. The friend said, "They want to set an example for Harlow. Nicole and Joel are doing this to seal their love legally. They want the ceremony to coincide with Harlow's first birthday and be one big joyous occasion for everybody."

It is also reported that the socialite and the rocker will sell the pictures of the ceremony to a magazine and will give the money to charity. About that matter, the friend reveals, "They've spoke about giving any money they get for photos of their wedding to Beyond Shelter, a homeless charity in Los Angeles that they work with. They also plan to give any presents away as well."

No official confirmation has been released by Nicole or Joel regarding the wedding report.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are longtime lovers. They have been dating since December 2006. On January 11, 2008, Nicole gave birth to daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, their first child together.
