Having been married to her lesbian partner Portia de Rossi, Ellen DeGeneres definitely supports gays who want to settle down as she has criticized Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin who bans gay marriage. On her talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" which was aired on October 22, she stated that American people "should all be equal."
"I don't know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she's that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution," Ellen stated. Expressing her disagreement on Sarah's constitution, she continued, "So if you're wondering, I'm sure you are, how I feel about this. I don't like, I don't like it. I don't agree. Maybe it's because I'm gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we're all equal."
Expressing her opinion even further, Ellen stated people should not worry that their children will be influenced to become gays when same-sex marriage isn't banned. "I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn't? Everyone dabbled, ya know?" she explained.
Ellen continued saying that she believed everyone is able to be "who they're gonna be." "And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love," she went on saying. Below is the video of Ellen's talk show in which she slammed Sarah Palin on her gay marriage disapproval.
