After for years avoiding to answer question about his sexuality, Clay Aiken finally confirms that he is a gay. Reports are abuzz that the former "American Idol" contestant will appear on the upcoming cover of People magazine. "Yes, I'm Gay," the cover read referring to his confession.
It has been reported that Clay also told the magazine, "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things." Meanwhile, according to MTV News, a representative for People magazine would neither confirm nor deny whether Clay made the statement. The representative only stated, "we can confirm that Clay Aiken and his son are featured on the next issue of People. For the complete story, please visit people.com at 7 A.M. [EDT Wednesday]."
Report on Clay's confirmation that he is gay came just weeks after the birth of his son Parker Foster Aiken, who was conceived via artificial insemination. He previously said that he intends to raise his son with the child's biological mother, his friend and musical producer Jaymes Foster, whom he met while he was a finalist on talent show "American Idol."
For years, Clay has avoided to answer questions about whether he is homosexual. He has sated that his sexuality was nobody's business but his own. Back in 2006, ABC television's reporter Diane Sawyer asked the pop singer about the same question and he simply commented that it was a "really rude" question. Besides, he also dodged it to People magazine, insisting that readers "are going to believe what they want."
