Fans must be careful when start searching for Brad Pitt online, because a computer security company has one word of advice, "beware". The actor has reportedly been dubbed the most dangerous celebrity to search online.
According to security software company McAfee Inc, cybercriminals are using his name to plant viruses in users' computer. And fans who search for info or photos on the "Troy" star have an 18 percent chance of having their computers infected with viruses or hacking programs, Reuters reported.
"Cybercriminals employ numerous methods, yet one of the simplest but most effective ways is to trick consumers into infecting themselves by capitalizing on Americans' interest in celebrity gossip," said Jeff Green, senior vice president of McAfee's Product Development & Avert Labs. "Tapping into current events, pop culture or commonly browsed sites is an easy way to achieve this."
But the longtime partner of Angelina Jolie isn't the only star being targeted by cybercriminals. According to McAfee Inc, his lover Angelina, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Alba and George Clooney are also among the most dangerous celebrities to look up online.
