When it comes to helping others, celebrities have their own way to raise fund for charity. And actor Johnny Depp has shown his way to help raise money for autism research. The "Finding Neverland" star went back to his home state of Florida on Friday, August 29, doing a little good deed.
Depp returned to his musical roots as he reunited with his old band The Kids at a benefit concert in Pampano, Florida. The 45-year-old actor and his old band mates have helped raise some money. All proceeds from the benefit will go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs.
At the concert, Depp strapped on a guitar as well as sang backup vocals. The band played a 90-minute set of original tunes and covers of musical classics, such as the Ronettees' "Be My Baby." His girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and daughter Lily-Rose, who attended the show, were seen screaming in support of Depp from the venue's box seats.
Depp joined The Kids when he was a high school student in Miramar, Florida. But he decided to pursue his career in acting after the band broke up. The actor and his old band were said to rock out again on day two of the benefit.
