Having been reported to seek for the sixth member, British pop band Girls Aloud is apparently tired of such issue. They then took over their website to dispel the rumor on Tuesday, August 26.
They started their post on their website, writing "Over the weekend the papers have been filled with false stories on the girls. But instead of the tired old 'split stories', they have invented rumors of a brand new Girls Aloud reality show." They went on continuing, "These reports could not be more wrong and the girls are too busy putting the finishing touches to their brand new album to be filming a new show, let alone bringing on a board new member." Furthermore, they stated, "The papers often get things wrong but this one should win some kind of award."
Girls Aloud previously were reported to have been planning to find a sixth member through audition. It will be held as part of a new television music talent show, "X Factor" style series, which is to be screened in 2009. And the band, which consist of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, are said to be still in talks with a production company to do the show.
"The girls have never forgotten that reality TV gave them their break. Now they want to give someone else the chance to enjoy a taste of the success they have enjoyed," said a source to Britain's Sunday Mirror. "The winner will get to perform with the group on stage during a one-off concert, but the girls hope they'll be able to discover a hidden talent who could join the band as a fully paid-up member." The source went on adding, "The girls have a huge amount of commitments outside the band. It makes sense to look for someone who can stand in if one of them can't make a show."
Girls Aloud's on the rumor can be read on their official site.
