British soul singer Joss Stone apparently is trying to develop her acting career, getting a role in a steamy TV drama. The 21-year-old is set to play as Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, in season three of the Emmy Award-winning TV show, "The Tudors".
In her first TV role, Joss will appear opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who plays as the king. In the steamy historical drama, Henry married German Anne after seeing a flattering portrait of her. But the bad-tempered king will storm out of the bedroom when he realizes she's a minger. An insider told The Sun on Tuesday, August 5, "Producers want Joss in a pretty bad state but she thinks it's a stepping stone to acting roles in the USA."
It seems that Joss, who burst onto the music scene in 2003 and has had three gold albums in the U.S., has been looking to cross over into acting. In 2006, she had a role in the fantasy feature "Eragon". The pop star, who is recently working on a new album, also stars in British film "Snappers", which hits cinemas later this year.
