Actor Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend, Camila Alves finally reveal their first child's name. The healthy baby who was born on Monday, July 7 is named Levi Alves McConaughey. When the actor whose hobby is surfing asked how they came up with that name, Matt exclusively told OK!, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person".
Apparently, the time when the baby was born also represents something for the proud daddy. "Our son was born at 6:22 P.M., and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: 'If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light,'" the actor said.
While the first name of the baby is taken from one the apostles of Jesus, baby Levi's middle name is taken directly from his mother's last name, Alves. "We wanted to incorporate her family name," explained the new daddy.
Matthew and Camila have also released the following statement for all the well-wishers and fans: "We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin'."
