Troubled singer Amy Winehouse will face no further legal action after being caught on a footage inhaling crack from cocaine glass pipe in January. After voluntarily checked herself in to a police station in East London and being questioned concerning the drug claims addressed to her earlier this month, she is finally free from the charges.
"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly-awaited festival performances this summer," a spokesman for Amy revealed. Moreover, a police spokesperson said that "The Crown Prosecution Service has now reviewed the case and no further action is being taken."
In other Amy news, she has become the inspiration for sculptor Guy Portelli to make a bronze sculpture titled "Excess" which represents her famous beehive hairstyle. The art work shows her sitting on top of a smashed champagne bottle and holding a glass with outstretched arm. Amy's body is covered with tiny pills while a pool of liquid lies beneath her feet.
Guys, who comes from Tonbridge, Kent, South East England, admitted that he is Amy's "huge fan". "I think she is a great talent. I would never make a sculpture of someone I didn't respect," so he said about Amy.
In addition to Guy, a student named Charlotte Suckling also made a print of Amy's image with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, entitled "Celebrity 1". Both the sculpture and image are going to be displayed at annual Royal Society of British Artists exhibition, at the Mall Galleries in central London. The exhibition will run from May 15 to 25.
