Lindsay Lohan Stole 11,000 Dollars Mink Coat
deals with a $10,000 demand from Columbia University student Masha Markova, 22, for stealing her $11,000 blond mink coat. Masha claimed that she lost her coat while attending a private birthday party at 1Oak in the Meatpacking District in the early-morning hours of January 26.

At the party, Masha sat next to Lindsay and placed her mink in a common bin with other jackets. It was when she was about to leave the party an hour later that she found the mink lost. Not even crossed her mind at that time that it was Lindsay who stole the special gift from her grandmother.

Masha was shocked when she saw the February 11 edition of OK! magazine two weeks later and found that Lindsay was photographed at the night of the party wearing the very same fur coat. "I was actually talking on the phone to my grandmother about something else, and then I flipped through the magazine, saw the picture said, 'I need to call you back,'" she told New York Post on May 5. Moreover she continued, "It was my coat. It was no doubt!"

Receiving no feedback from 1Oak after a few days, Masha then asked her lawyer Merrill Cohen, to call Lindsay's Hollywood attorney, Blair Berk, claiming the mink. She was very disappointed when two days later 1Oak delivered the coat to her apartment in such a bad condition. It was slightly torn and reeking of cigarette smoke and alcohol.

Instead of asking apology to Masha, Lindsay just ignored the trouble as Masha revealed to the Post, "They were very discreet, never mentioned a name or even the word 'coat'. They just said, 'We're going to bring you something.'" That is why, Masha wants Lindsay to pay for the unauthorized, three-week rental of her coat. "I don't see how it could have been an accident," she said. Lindsay's representative has not yet commented on this.
