Miley Cyrus, who was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, wanted to make her stage name official. Reportedly, in order to make her dream come true, she was helped by her parents to file the documents in Los Angeles County Superior on Friday, March 14. In the document, she requested to change her birth name to be Miley Ray Cyrus.
The document was also reported to be indicating the reason for the name change. Actually, Cyrus has been commonly known as Miley Cyrus since she was child. It was the reason that motivated the star to make her popular name legal. However, before her name become legal, the "Hannah Montana" star must publish a public notice for the change.
The 15-year-old singer confessed that her first name Miley was originally given by her dad. This name was given to her because she smiled much when she was baby. To complete her full name, she added the middle name of her dad, who is known as a country music star, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Cyrus first talked about her plan to make legal change for her name sometime in January 2008. Previously, there used to be reports claiming that the singer wants to change her name. However, the rumors were not completely true because she just filed the official document last Friday.
