Accused to Be 'Crossing the Line' With Ex-Publicist' Daughter, R. Kelly Fires Back
Following the accusations stating that R 'n' B singer has an inappropriate relationship with his former publicist's daughter, the 41-year-old singer strikes back. According to a statement given to TMZ by Kelly's spokesman, the singer of hit single "I Believe I Can Fly" claimed that the relationship has been encouraged by his resigned-publicist, Regina Daniels.

The statement read, "It's hard to take seriously the moral outrage expressed by George and Regina Daniels over R. Kelly's relationship with Mr. Daniels' adult daughter, Maxine. The fact is that they had no problem with the relationship - indeed, they encouraged it - while Ms. Daniels was on Mr. Kelly's payroll. It was Regina Daniels, then working as a publicist for Mr. Kelly, who persuaded him to attend her step-daughter's 21st birthday party. And it was Regina Daniels who shortly thereafter gave her step-daughter Mr. Kelly's private phone number, with the admonition: 'Don't tell your father.'" Further, it was claimed that the relationship became a problem only after Regina stepped down from her role stating, "It was only after Ms. Daniels resigned her position to avoid being fired for incompetence that her stepdaughter's relationship suddenly became an issue for her and her husband."

The firing back statement from Kelly was made following the recent accusation made by the husband of his long-time publicist who suddenly resigned from her job last November. Recently, George Daniels spoke to Los Angeles radio station KJLH over the reason of his wife's resignation. At the time, he revealed, "He crossed the line with my daughter. It didn't get to the extreme of that (alleged sex tape) video or else I wouldn't be here, if you know what I'm talking about." George then added that he is furious that Kelly lied to him about the relationship with his 21-year-old daughter. "He denied it. He lied to me to my face," George said.

He then explained, "The reason that I'm talking abut this, it's not just for me, it's not for my wife, it's not for my daughter, but it's for the public. It's for other fathers and mothers because it doesn't have to be a superstar, it could be the dude on the corner. There are guys who sit around and give your child a couple of bucks to go to school and then wait until they get a little older, then they set that trap. See, so I'm doing this really for everyone." Though noting down that legally his daughter, Maxime, is an adult, he stated that Kelly took advantage on his daughter claiming, "When you're 21, and if you've been there already like I've been many years ago, you're still 15 to 16 mentally. You're vulnerable."
