Not slowing down in continuing her musical path despite approaching age 50, Madonna indeed still proves herself to be a very profitable music artist. The 'Material Girl' has been placed on the top spot of Forbes magazine's first-ever "Cash Queens of Music" list for banking a remarkable $72 million between June 2006 and June 2007.
Such enormous amount was contributed by her landmark "Confessions" tour, which has been reported to gross nearly $260 million worldwide. Apart from the successful concert tour, the singer also has scored big cash from steady record sales, a clothing line deal with H&M, and NBC's rights to broadcast her live performances.
The "Like A Virgin" hit-maker was followed by other music divas Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion on the next two positions with $60 million and $45 million, respectively. Trailing behind was Latin sensation Shakira who made her way to collect $38 million earnings. Former Destiny's Child member Beyonce Knowles rounded out the big five for scoring $27 million of cash into her pocket.
