Tom Cruise Nailed 'Courage' Award in 2007 Bambi Awards
brought home a German film award. On Thursday (29.11.07), the 'Mission Impossible' star was honored the 'courage' award in the 59th annual Bambi Awards ceremony in Duesseldorf, German. The award is given to Cruise since he was considered taking risks for his role in historical thriller movie ''.

Xinhuanet.com reported that in a statement, the jury committee commented that the Hollywood star has maintained to do the ballsy project which introduced the story of the German resistance heroes against the Third Reich to the international public. In his new movie, Cruise portrays Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, a German army officer who tried to assassinate Adolf Hitler with a briefcase bomb on July 20, 1944.

Along with Cruise, several other notable people are also awarded with the golden 'Bambi' statues. The 'Desperate Housewives' star, got her Bambi under the nomination of 'TV Series International' , while Sophia Loren, the Italian actress, nailed the 'Lifetime Achievement' award and former boxing world champion, Henry Maske, was honored under the category of 'Comeback'.

Bambi Awards is a annual prized awarded by Hubert Burda Media, the German media company to under nominations for various sectors, including show business, economy, politics and sports. The award show was created in 1948 and the prize was originally made from porcelain before being replaced by gold in 1958.
