Hawthorne Heights unexpectedly lost one of their members on Saturday afternoon (24.11.07). Casey Calvert, the band's guitarist, has been found dead on the band's tour bus outside 9:30 Club, in Washington, D.C. He was found unconscious by band mates, JT Woodruff, Micah Carli, Matt Ridenour and Eron Bucciarelli, as they were about to start their sound check for the night performance.
After police were called around 2:30 p.m., the 25-year-old was pronounced dead. Though some reports suggested that the cause of his death was related to acute asthma, police are still waiting for the autopsy's result. Aside from his band, he was leaving behind his wife for a year, his mother, his father, his stepmother and two stepsisters.
On Saturday, the band posted a message on their official website stating, "Today is probably the worst day ever....Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible....Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend...."
The complete message can be found on the Hawthorne Heights Official Site
At the time of his death, the band supposedly was on the road to do their 'Wintour 2007'. The tour started the night before in Detroit, and supposedly should lasts until December 21. MTV.com reported that the band's spokesperson has confirmed that the remaining schedules of the band's 'Wintour 2007' have been canceled following Calvert's sudden death.
