'Weeds' star
Mary-Louise Parker has adopted a baby girl from Africa. The 43-year-old actress was seen with her new daughter as she traveled to the Emmys on Sunday (16.09.07).
Parker's representative confirmed the happy news, but refused to reveal any further information about the adoption. A source said: "Mary-Louise is such an incredible mother. She couldn't be happier about this." Parker already has a three-year-old son, Will, with her actor ex-lover Billy Crudup. The couple split before Will was born.
The star was nominated for two Emmys this year, for her portrayal as a cannabis-selling single parent in dark comedy 'Weeds' and for her role in TV movie 'The Robber Bride'.
Shortly after Will was born, Parker revealed motherhood came easily to her, saying: "There are a lot of things I just would not attempt, but taking care of someone - I know how to do. I know how to do that, and I enjoy doing that."
The actress is currently starring alongside
Brad Pitt in '
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford'.
